Storyline
Antonin Artaud is a poet seeking the spiritual knowledge of the Tarahumara, losing his soul in a Peyote ceremony. It is only through the kindness of his friend Rayenari that Artuad will regain what he’s lost. Mixing horror with a story of friendship, Jikuri explores the importance and dangers of spiritual identity in the face of the cosmic unknown.
Antonin Artaud, es un poeta que busca el conocimiento espiritual de los tarahumaras y pierde su alma en una ceremonia de peyote. Solo gracias a la bondad de su amigo Rayenari, Artaud recuperará lo que ha perdido. Jikuri mezcla el terror con una historia de amistad y explora la importancia y los peligros de la identidad espiritual frente a lo desconocido cósmico.

Federico Cecchetti studied film direction at ENAC-UNAM and the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. His debut feature, Mara’akame’s Dream, received twelve Ariel nominations and won two. His second feature, Jíkuri, recently premiered in the official competition at the Guadalajara International Film Festival. He is currently developing his next film, Maya, with support from the National System of Art Creators.
