El guardián de las monarcas es un documental que explora la desaparición de Homero Gómez, un activista que llamó la atención sobre las mariposas monarca en peligro de extinción en los bosques de Michoacán, donde varios grupos del crimen organizado establecieron operaciones de tala. Este documental defiende la importancia del activismo en la lucha contra la poderosa corrupción y la belleza de preservar una naturaleza que solo héroes como Homero Gómez pueden reconocer como digna de luchar.

Director
Emiliano Ruprah is a Mexican-American filmmaker who began his career at Earth Touch, producing nature and archaeology programs for major networks like National Geographic and the BBC. He later joined National Geographic, where he produced and directed award-winning shows on wildlife, exploration, and ancient cultures, including the Perpetual Planet initiative with Rolex. His wildlife films for Smithsonian Channel earned an Emmy nomination in 2020, and his upcoming work includes a Netflix documentary. He’s also a Fellow at the Explorer’s Club in NYC and has filmed across five continents.
